The traditional newspaper companies are desperate in the western world. Their only competetive advantage is thé distribution to the personal mailbox. Other FREE newspaper, such as Metro, have the same news value and articles as the traditional, for NO COST

What’s wrong in getting the world to your mailbox? (which is not the case in all countries, by the way.)
When did any of those freebies ever create any journalistic scoop? They just remix and harp on semi-finished news from other papers or news agencies. Where’s the depth? Where’s the research? Where’s the background?
The cost may not be monetary. Rather you pay by getting superficial news clippings instead of journalism.

But why newsPAPERS? Haven’t you heard of the World Wide Web-thing, guys? You know this extensive computer network where all of those news get published much faster and with possibilities of connecting to more in-depth background information for the likes of Bjebeje and jill, while Toumpen can get his quick free news - even pushed to his screen by RSS.
Who needs paper these days, except for filling your wet shoes when they need to dry and to wipe your *** of course.
