Most people who go to the wine districts in Bordeaux visit the old medieval town Saint Emilion a couple of hours in the middle of the day. I would recommend to to the opposite: stay at the nice Hotel Palais Cardinal a couple of days and spend the mornings and evenings in Saint Emilion when it is not so crowed and go to Graves, Cognac and the other places over the day.
