Sauvignon blanc wine

The typical grape variety that dominates in white Bordeaux wine. Fresh, sometimes even a bit harsh. With a smokey tint when grown in the Loire valley. Has travelled abroad, but not as much, nor as well as Chardonnay. Has done well in New Zealand where the aromas of gooseberries and asparagus often are stronger.
